    The particular representation of a town or a city as portrayed by communication outlets such as TV, radio, internet etc

    Internal forces that contribute to the character of a place e.g. location, land use, and built infrastructure
  • Exogenous factors

    External forces that contribute to the character of a place e.g. the links or ties a place may have to other places
  • Social characteristics
    Qualities of the people of the place that contribute to a places identity e.g. political attitudes or ethnicity
