Comparing Rate Graphs

    Cards (7)

    • Comparing for faster reaction:
      • Has a steeper gradient, shows faster reaction.
      • Takes less time to flatten out, shows faster reaction.
      • Two reactions shown produce same volume of product because the quantities of the reactants used are the same.
      • If quantity of the limiting reactant is changed, the volume of product formed will also change — E.G. if factor is halved, the reaction will produce half the volume of product.
    • Two reactions
      • Comparing graphs show the differences in the rates of similar reactions - what is more effective for a faster rate.
    • Comparing graph
    • Calculating gradient of the tangent:
      • gradient = change in y / change in x
