  • Prehistory - the period of time before writing was used
    Historical consciousness - being able to place ourselves in past human experience to connect the past, present and the future.
    Cross checking - using multiple sources to verify the information
    Archive - a place that stores catalogues and a collection of other types of sources
    Handling box - a replica of an artefact so anyone examining wouldn't damage the artefact
    Reinterpretation - seeing something in a new perspective
  • Types of Sources:
    • Written; ex) diaries, biographies, government records
    • Visual; ex) photographs, posters, art
    • Aural; ex) recorded interviews, speeches
    • Oral; ex) interviews by the researcher/historian
    • Tactile; ex) artefacts
