  • Explain the right individuals have to protection from abuse and harm.
    This means : All care settings need to follow safeguarding procedures to protect children and adults because they are vulnerable.
    This is important because -
    People in care might be more vulnerable to abuse and harm eg. Children/Adults in care, that lack mental capacity, have dementia, have a learning disability, have a physical disability
    Anyone (care workers and care users) is at risk of abuse and harm
  • Examples of right to protection from abuse and harm
    Any from -
    • carry out dbs checks
    • designanted safeguarding lead
    • have clear and up-to-date procedures – fire, complaints, lockdown
    • staff training on manual handling, safeguarding and first aid
    • risk assements
    • follow reporting procedures for abusive behaviour
