    •  Supporting research: Ireland (2000) showed anger management is very successful and found there was a 92% reduction in anger levels for prisoners that completed 2 measures of anger 
    • Studies of effectiveness can be contradictory, Law (1997) reported only one individual who completed an 8-session course showed any improvement 
    • In contrast, Hunter (1993) reported considerable improvements in certain areas such as reduction in impulsiveness, depression and interpersonal problems
    • Findings not applicable long-term, reoffending rates didn't decrease as roleplay scenarios don't accurately reflect real life, also hard to control other variables 
    • Not all offending beh is due to anger, ie theft, so simplification and there needs to be more research into relationship between anger and crime before an assessment of its use and effectiveness in reducing rates of recidivism amongst criminals can be made
