  • Unstructured interviews are like a guided conversation, interviewer has complete freedom to vary the questions ,their wording and order ask follow up questions / probe more deeply
    • Whereas structured follows a standardised format unstructured doesn’t
  • Unstructured interviews are favoured by Interpretivists, as they use methods/approaches that generate detailed, in-depth data, which reveal the meanings individuals attach to behaviour (micro). They attempt to establish ‘social reality’.
