Against

• if every nation had its own parliament than it would raise the question in why there is a UK parliament
• under 20% of the public support the creation of an english parliament according to the latest opinion polls which suggest that most english voters would rather be governed by the Westminster parlaiment
• it wouldn't give anymore independence of freedom to different regions of the Uk
• the west Lothian question has been addressed by the EVEL in 2015
