  • quality
customers have differing expectations of quality. some expect the highest quality whilst others are satisfied with less e.g. someone who spends £4 in morley’s will have lower expectations than someone who spends £40 in a gourmet restaurant
  • price
lowering prices increases sales. the price that customers are willing to pay depends on the value they place on the product.
