meltzoff and Moore did a controlled assessment where adults would display three facial expressions and the childrens response was filmed
meltzoff and Moore found that there was a clear association between the behaviour of the adult and behaviour of child and then later did research into three day old infants which suggested that interactional synchrony is innate
