• a strength is that there are real world applications from the studies of Romanian orphans. These have improved conditions for childrens home and has improved psychologists understanding of the effects of early institutionalisation.
• a weakness is that there are fewer confounding variables as many of these studies were done before WW2. Therefore, many f the children experienced different degrees of trauma such as neglect and abuse.
