• water cycle is when water evaporates into water vapor which then condenses and released back to earth in the form of precipitation
• carbon-oxygen cycle is the process of carbon dioxide being converted into oxygen
• nitrogen cycle is the process by which nitrogen is recycled in the environment
• nitrogen cycle involves:

  • nitrate ions
  • ammonium ions
  • urea
• nitrogen fixation is the breaking apart of nitrogen molecule
• atmospheric fixation is a way of nitrogen fixation by lightning, dissolving in rain which forms nitrates
• biological fixation is nitrogen fixation by microbes which requires ATP
• ATP stands for adenosine triphosphate
• ATP is the major energy provider of the cell
• industrial fixation is a nitrogen fixation which produces ammonia and urea and ammonium nitrate
• phosphorus cycle is when phosphate weathers from rocks and minerals
