LESSON 8: TITRATION

    Cards (7)

    • Titration
A common laboratory method of quantitative chemical analysis used to determine the concentration of an unknown solution.
    • Titrant
The solution with accurately known concentration.
    • Analyte/Titrand
The solution with the unknown concentration.
    • The titrant is added gradually to a known quantity of the analyte until the reaction between the two solutions is complete.
    • Equivalence point
A theoretical point where the amounts of the titrant and analyte are equivalent.
    • Indicator
A substance whose solution changes color due to changes in pH; used to signal the end of a titration.
    • Endpoint
A practical point at which the reaction is observed to be complete; observes with the help of indicator.
