Cards (7)
Titration
A common laboratory method of quantitative chemical analysis used to determine the
concentration
of an unknown solution.
Titrant
The solution with accurately known
concentration.
Analyte
/
Titrand
The solution with the unknown
concentration.
The
titrant
is added
gradually
to a known quantity of the analyte until the reaction between the two solutions is complete.
Equivalence point
A theoretical point where the amounts of the titrant and analyte are
equivalent.
Indicator
A substance whose solution changes color due to changes in
pH
; used to signal the
end
of a titration.
Endpoint
A practical point at which the reaction is observed to be complete; observes with the help of
indicator.
