  • quantitative data - data that is measured in numbers, fitness test is an example of a test resulting in numbers
  • qualitive data - data described in words , collected through observation. Interviewing people asking an athlete how they're feeling before a race and is less easy to analyse than data in numbers
  • how does obesity affect your athletics? - puts more strain on your cardiovascular system and decreases cardiovascular endurance. Decreases flexibility , speed ,power and agility
  • balanced diet - contains the best ratio of nutrients to match your lifestyle
  • narcotic analgesics - kills pain so you will not feel any fatigue e.g over training don't affect performance . negatives are less pain , train to hard
  • anebolic agents - testosterone increases bone and muscle growth .The negatives are high blood pressure, heart disease
  • sponsorship - alcholic drink companies are allowed to sponsor some some sports, but this can be bad as it gives alchol a false image of health. Athletes can get into trouble with their sponsor if they're spotted using another company's product. The money is available for the top players
  • input -when you receive information from the environment through your senses e.g checking to see if there are any defenders / using ears to hear for shouting decision making - when you decide how to respond to the input , past experiences are stored in long term memory e.g deciding on how your going to receive the ball output - your muscles react to messages from the brain telling them what to do to perform a skill e.g controlling the ball Feedback - extrinsic or intrinsic feedback e.g coach telling you , you done well
