Scottish National Party (SNP)

• The SNP was established in 1934 and won its first seat in 1967
• In 2015, the SNP won 56/59 of the Scottish seats in the Hose of Commons
• The SNP has been the third biggest party in the House Of Commons since 2015

  • Soctland has maintained a free university tution by not adopting the tution fees that exist elsewhere in the UK
  • Perscription are free of charge, bus travel for under-22, NHS dental treatment for under-26
  • 16 and 17 year olds are allowed to vote
  • SNP allowed its own response to Covid-19 pandemic
• Scotland is a part of the UK and this puts significant restraints on what the SNP can achieve in government in Scotland
• Westminister government blocked a Scottish government bill implementing self-identification for people who want to change gender
