Democratic Unionist Party (DUP)

• The DUP was founded in 1971
• In the 2005 general election the DUP became the largest unionist party at Westminister with 25% of vote share
• In 2007 the DUP agreed to share power with Sinn Fein
• From 2017-2020 thee Stormont assembly was suspended when Sienn Fien withdrew from the government
• In 2017, the DUP made a confidence-and-supply agreement with the Conservatives
