in terms of conservation and education, achieving a sustainable balance between protection and development in the tropical rainforest is the prime responsibility of government
all governments have the pass laws by:
creating protected areas or reserves,
stopping the abuse of the rainforest and other biomes by developers,
making subjects such as ecology or environmental studies a compulsory part of the school curriculum
there are some problems, for example, few governments are willing to do anything that might slow down the rate of economicdevelopment (citizens expect or want better living standards rather than new nature reserves), governments seem unwilling to enforce and monitorlaws aimed at protecting or conserving the rainforest and there is a lot of corruption in the way rainforests are treated, for example by illegalloggers and developers
FUNAI is the national indian foundation set up in 1967 by the brazilliangovernmentbody, they are responsible for mapping out and protecting lands inhabited by traditional/indigenouspopulations, they prevent invasion of outsiders and respect the rights of them to live in isolation to protect them from outsiders disease
the brazilian institute of environment and renewable natural resources use GIS to map deforestation in real time and then send armedpersonnel to catch those responsible and burn the camps, this started by Marina Silva in 2004 when she was environment minister
