• What are the two types of law that make up the majority of the laws? Define them.

  The two types of law that make up the majority of the law are (1) statutes and (2) case law.

  1. Statutes: Laws coming from Parliament and legislation – most important in Canada and trumps (if constitutional) judge-made law.
  2. Case Law (also referred to as judge-made law): Law created by the courts.
