  • Buddhism - is built upon the grand project of alleviating the entire human race from the clout of suffering.
  • The four noble truth:
    1. Dukkha
    2. Samudaya
    3. Nirodha
    4. Magga
  • Dukkha - life is about suffering
  • Samudaya - the cause of human suffering
  • Desire - the origin of human suffering
  • Tanha - buddhis concept referring to desire or craving.
  • Chanda - the desire for noble things such as wisdom, knowledge, or making others happy.
  • Three negative qualities are borne of Tanha:
    1. Greed
    2. Ignorance
    3. Hatred
  • Nirodha - the cessation or ending of suffering.
  • The division of the eight-fold path:
    1. Wisdom
    2. Morality
    3. Concetration
  • Magga - the path to the cessation of suffering
  • Nirvana - the extinguishment of desire (negative)
  • Nirvana - it is a state of being freed from the clout of negative disires.
  • Samma-ditthi - right understanding is the first path to nirvana
  • First two of the noble truths of Buddhism, that is, life is suffering, and it is caused by desire.
  • Samma-sankappa (second path) - the realm of right intention includes a positive outlook in life.
  • Samma-vaca - right speech. in it, Buddha tells adherents to speak only the truth. One has to make sure what he utters does not malign others.
  • Samma- samadhi (right concentration being the 8th) - it is in this state of being alone with oneself that adherents find the moment to deepen his understanding of life as taught by Buddha.
  • Samma-sati - right mindfulness
  • Samma-kammanta - Right action
  • Samma-vayama - right effort
  • Samma-ajiva - right livelihood
