  • Jan 1460 - reinforcements on way to support Somerset BUT prevented by Yorkist raid on Sandwich - also recaptured EOW impounded ships - strengthen Y forces
  • March 1460 - confident of support + ability of Fauconberg to defend Calais - EOW went to Ireland to discuss next steps of campaign
  • 23 April 1460 - DOS defeated by EOW supporters at Battle of Newnham Bridge + retreated to Guisnes + remained there until autumn 1460
