Flexures

• The cephalic end of the neural tube forms two flexures
• The flexura cranialis is positioned at the level of the mesencephalon
• The flexura cervicalis is formed at the border of the rhombencephalon and the spinal cord
• Later a third flexure between the metencephalon and meyelencephalon is formed the flexura pontina
• The midbrain-hindbrain border is the sharp bend that seperates the mesencephalon from the metencephalon
