Neuroepithelial cells differentiatie into neuroblast cells, these wil prolifereate further to neurons and soms gliacells. the also produce the ependymal cells which line the central canal and brain vesicles
Young neurons are formed in the ventricular or ependymal zone that surrounds the lumen of the neural tube. These neurons will migrate peripherally to establish the mantle or intermediate zone
The intermediate zone contains the cell bodies of neurons that extend their axons peripherally to form the outermost marginal zone
The mantle zone will differentiate into the gray matter
