Behaviour

Cards (4)

  • Boundaries
Boundaries need to be set for children’s behaviour so they know what they can and can not do.
  • Consistency
    • Parents must be consistent with boundaries so children don’t get mixed messages and are confused
    • This includes the boundaries set for siblings or other children.
  • Promoting positive behaviour
    • When a child does something good, praising the behaviour will make a child feel good about themselves and they will want to repeat the behaviour
    • Ignoring poor behaviour is also a good way of limiting it.
  • Reward Systems
    • Using reward systems such as a chart is another way for a child to see their good behaviour earning them a reward
    • This will make them want to repeat positive behaviour as they enjoy the effect their positive behaviour is having
