Boundaries
Boundaries need to be set for children’s
behaviour
so they know what they
can
and can not do.
Consistency
Parents must be consistent with
boundaries
so children don’t get
mixed
messages and are confused
This includes the
boundaries
set for siblings or other
children.
Promoting
positive
behaviour
When a child does something
good
, praising the behaviour will make a child feel
good
about themselves and they will want to repeat the behaviour
Ignoring
poor
behaviour is also a good way of
limiting
it.
Reward Systems
Using
reward systems
such as a chart is another way for a child to see their good behaviour earning them a
reward
This will make them want to repeat
positive behaviour
as they enjoy the effect their
positive behaviour
is having
