    Literal --> Creationism. Word for word. Word of God so acctually happened.
    Inspired --> Metaphorical but still teaches us about God and ourselves.

    Omnipotent --> God created the world and everything in it. He is all powerful.
    Benevolent --> God said that everything he made was "good" which shows he loves it.
    Creator --> God is the creator of the world.
    Eternal --> God has been around since the begining of time.

    Freely accepting that Jesus has died for our sins --> was a substitute for humans going through punishment.
    Taking part in the sacraments in the Church --> Grace becomes a reality.

    Against : Everything has a purpose, Humanists + Atheists dont believe humans are superior, God declaired everything he made was "good".

    Catholics : Worship is structured --> set prayers + revolves around the Eucharist.
    Other : Spontaneous --> more focus on holy spirit and how it guides them - upbeat singing + evangelical preaching.

    For : Church needs us to do it --> won't survive without. Catholic means universal (for everyone) --> duty of every Catholic. Jesus tells us to make disciples of all nations.
    Against : Preists have been specifically tasked with the vocation. Caan't expect everyone to evangelise. Everyone has different roles and responsibilities - St. Paul.

    Changed from Latin to the vernacular.

    Followed God's plan for her + was the perfect model of obedience --> didn't question, just accepted.
    Complete devotion to Jesus --> always by his side
    SOW : "I am the handmaid of the Lord, let what you have said be done unto me".

    For : Word of God --> should be trusted without question. Simple and clear --> everyone has the same understanding. Everyone has the same practices.
    Against : Result in unhelpful interpretations (extremist veiws) --> different denominations interpret differently. Many types of books --> one type is poetry which is meant to be symbolic and interpreted, not taken literally. Church teaches bible should be interpreted. Reading as inspired creates no conflict between science and religion.

    Reflects on what Jesus did for our salvation.
    The preist somtimes acts in the place of Christ.
    Invites a strong audience response.

    East facing --> towards Jerusalem where Jesus was crusified and ressurected.
    Crusiform shape --> reminder of the cross.
    High ceilings --> connection with God and Heaven.
    SOW : "magnificent church architecture evokes the supreme source of all beauty" - Pope Benedict.
  • d) Evaluate "Traditional music is the best music for worship".
    For : Preferable as is traditional within the Church. Passed down in the faith. Should be upheld. Hymns suit certain occasions + liturgical seasons. More respectable.
    Against : Traditional hymns are outdated and lack appeal. Contemporary hymns have been growing more popular. Contemporary appeals to a younger generation. Newer songs are more inclusive and relatable. Contemporary are better at expressing faith.
