    An area whose residents usually work elsewhere, although they live, eat and sleep in these neighbourhoods
  • What are the impacts on rural areas that have become commuter settlements?
    Due to more demand than supply, house prices in rural villages are high e.g Terling is a rural village in essex and which is a 45min train journey to central London, the average house prices are £750,000.
    Commuters also increase air and noise pollution and congestion
  • Why have people moved to commuter settlements?
