Weber focuses on inequality as a complex phenomenon unlike Marxism which focuses on the economic aspect of inequality. It focuses on the ability to influence others through ownership of land/capital, social status, strength and education.
Weber saw stratification in terms of relationship between class, status and party. He believed there was no such thing as objective truth as science is based on beliefs.
Weber can be seen as a pluralist, where power is distributed between a variety of different groups in society in different amounts.
Weber is describing a society that is held together through tradition and habit instead of deliberate exercise of social control.
Differs from Marx, as he believed in a two-class system (bourgeoisie vs proletariat) whereas Weber believed in a 4 class system with different divisions.
