Anti-social personality disorder
Sometimes referred to as sociopathy, APD involves a disregard for social norms and the rights of others, which can include being very deceptive, and impulsive
Avoidant personality disorder
Unwilling to be involved with others, due to a fear of rejection. They show extreme shyness, and sensitivity to judgement of criticism
Borderline personality disorder
They have very unstable relationships, a poor self-image, and they feel emotions very intensely, including a feeling of emptiness. Often have suicidal thoughts
Dependent personality disorder
They have difficulty making daily decisions and rely on others to care for them. Fear not being able to care for themselves, and are very submissive to others
Histrionic personality disorder
Includes attention seeking behaviours, and often have exaggerated emotions
Narcissistic personality disorder
A need for admiration, with a sense of entitlement, they take advantage of others, with a lack of empathy
Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder
Very preoccupied with control and perfection, inflexible with schedules, to the point that it would impact their lives and relations with family and friends
Paranoid personality disorder
Has a suspicious, negative view of others, avoids close relationships with others, and assumes that others are out to get them
Schizoid personality disorder
Expresses very little emotion, not responding to criticism or praise, chooses to be on their own, detaching themselves socially
Schizotypal personality disorder
Has eccentric behaviour, with odd thinking or beliefs, uncomfortable having close relationships with others
