Official statistics show crime occurs more in lower classes, and victimology follows the same pattern. Some offences have no correlation to class e.g. domestic violence, ad some are negatively correlated e.g. fraud

Working class crimes are over-reported and more likely to be punished, but they only commit crime because of the criminal nature of capitalism.
Left Realists
Working class do commit more crime, but in response to marginalisation and relative deprivation.
Right Realists
Working class commit more crime because they are poorly socialised, and are likely to grow up in a single parent family.
Functionalists
Working class crime is a result of working class values (Miller) or status frustration (Cohen)
