PRT - how to

• come up with a 2 part thesis and list the techniques you are going to use as proof
• Intro


  Consists of:

  • Thesis
  • TAG line (title, author, genre)
  • Preview of direction the text is going (specific)
  • Hook that relates to the topic (more than 2 sentences, transitions into first paragraph)
• Body paragraphs


  • - Can write all techniques found in one paragraph or split them into two
  • Markers will make note of conscious choices if they are shown on the planning stage of the essay
  • First two paragraphs address first part of thesis
  • Other two address second part of thesis
• Conclusion paragraph


  • Restates thesis
  • Reviews direction the text is going (in new wording for Zestiness)
  • More specific to the text
  • Restates or does hook again
• Editing


  Add Zestiness (use rhetorical devices)

  • Always tie back to the thesis
