• a higher wavelength means a lower frequency
• red has the longest wavelength and the lowest frequency
• violet has the shortest wavelength and the highest frequency
• the longer the wavelength, the higher the temperature
• transverse waves : Radio, Micro, Infrared, Visible light, Ultraviolet, Xray, Gamma ray
• frequency is the number of waves that pass a point every second
• frequency = number of waves / time
• period = 1 / frequency
• wavespeed = frequency x wavelength
• period : the amount of time it takes for a full cycle of waves to be completed
• all waves have energy
• traverse waves are perpendicular (90 degree) to the direction which the wave travels and transfers energy
• longitudinal waves' particles oscillated in the same way, parallel to the direction the wave travels and transfers the enrgy
• the centre of mass of an object is the point through which all the mass appears to be / its weight appears to act
• Refraction is when wave appears to bend
• Light is refracted when it travelled from one medium to another and changes speed
• Reflection happens when a wave hits the surface and bounces off
