• The process of digestion ends at the level of the small intestine
• Nutrients found in the small intestine like:

  Water , mineral salts , vitamin , glucose , fructose , galactose , amino acids , fatty acid , glycerol.
• Intestinal absorption(Biological phenomenom)


  It is the passage of nutrients from the small intestine into the blood or lymphocytes.

  • Rich in blood and lymphatic vessels
  • Thin wall of small intestine
• The fate of nutrients after digestion

• Nutrients have 2 passways at the level of small intestine
• Nutrients like : glucose , galactose , fructose , amino acids , and vitamins pass into the blood
• Nutrients like : fatty acid and glycerol pass into lymph
• Nutrients like : water , and mineral salts pass into blood and lymph
