Robbery definition - a person is guilty of robbery if he steals and immediatly before or at the time of doing so uses force on any person or puts or seeeks to put any person in fear of being subjected to force
actus reus - completed theft from s1 theft act 1968 - with dishonest appropriation (robinson) once theft is completed with force there is robbery (corcoran v anderton)
must be force or threat of force - can be minimal (dawson and james) can be indirect (clouden) v doesn't have to be frightened (b and r v dpp)
force can be on any person
force must be immediatly before or at time of threat - can be a continuing act (hale) and used to escape (lockley)
force must be used to steal
