• A thyristor acts like a transistor but whenever it is activates it stays on, called a latch. It requires a break in power supply to deactivate.
• When a voltage of 2 is applied to the gate of the thyristor it will activate.
• A transistor amplifies the Current input and acts as an electronic switch.
