  • Post-event discussions affecting EWT - Gabbert et al:
    60 students from the university of Aberdeen and 60 older adults from the local community watched a video of a girl stealing money from a wallet.
    The control group were tested individually, the co-witness (CW) group was tested in pairs.
    The CW group were told that they had watched the same video, however had seen different perspectives and only one person had actually seen the girl steal.
  • Post-event discussions affecting EWT - Gabbert et al results:
    71% of witnesses in the co-witness group recalled information they had not actually seen.
    0% of the control group reported details they had not actually seen.
    This is memory conformity / corruption:
    witnesses go along with each other because they dont think they’re right or for social approval.
