• photosynthesis = carbon dioxide + water----glucose + oxygen
• plants use glucose for respiration and to make cellulose and starch

• to improve greenhouses heaters, paraffin heaters, artificial llights and ventilation is added
• respiration is used to build up larger molecules and to help muscles contact
• aerobic = glucose + oxygen ---- carbon dioxide + water
• anaerobic in animals = glucose --- lactic acid
• anaerobic plants = glucose -- ethanol + carbon dioxide
• carbon dioxide is used in bread making
• ethanol is used to make beer and wine
• muscles need energy from respiration to contract
• anaerobic respiration leads to oxygen debt
• oxygen debt is the amount of oxygen needed to remove lactic acid from the muscles
