  • Common good
    Respecting the rights and responsibilities of all people. Where it is about what's best for the collective, rather than what's best for certain individuals or groups. It's about making decisions and taking actions that benefit everyone, not just some.
  • Catholic social teaching of the common good
    Every human having the right to participate in decisions that affect their lives and having the fundamental right to life, food, shelter, education, health care and employment. There are special conditions that allow people to reach their full human potential and to realise their human dignity.

    • It emphasises how God is created in his own image, both male and female. Every person has inherent value and dignity because they reflect the likeness of God's nature. Living this demonstrates equality among people and calls for treating everyone with respect and fairness.

    • This statement expresses that human life is scared because it only comes from God. So any harm done to human life is seen as an attack on God himself.
