• Before Wundt, psychology was a type of philosophy, experimental.
• Wundt is the first psychologist who opened a lab dedicated to psychology and the first lab experiment studying the mind in 1879, which was known as introspection. Responsible for emergence of psychology as a science.

  Recorded participants responses to various stimuli such as objects and sounds and asked to explain their responses, their thoughts, feelings and images. This is caused structuralism. They used standardised procedures, stimuli was presented in the same order to every participant and they followed the same instructions.
