  It is systematic and controlled as it is recorded in a lab which removes extraneous variables, increasing the reliability and validity as it can be replicated. There were also standardised procedures where every participant is shown the same stimuli in the same order and followed the same instructions. It was a forerunner for later research.
• Wundt's Introspection: Subjective Data


  Data and results from the introspection is considered unreliable today. It is reliant on participants self-reporting which is subjective as it is from the personal perspective. Some participants may have hidden some thoughts which makes it difficult to establish meaningful laws of behaviour.
