• Mass of water = 100g

  Mass of salt = 36g

  Mass of salt solution = 136g
• Solvent = The liquid in which a substance dissolves to make a solution
• Solvent = A liquid that can dissolve to make a solution
• Solution = When a substance has dissolved in a liquid. Solutions are transparent
• Some solids are soluble. This means they can dissolve in liquids
• Dissolving = when a solid breaks up into bits so tiny, that light isn't blocked by them and so we can see through the mixture
• A mixture contains different elements and/or components that are not chemically bonded
• Solubility is the mass of a solute that will dissolve in 100g of a solvent
• Chromatography = a method that separates out the dissolved substances in a mixture, using a liquid or gas solvent. The different substances are carried different distances by the solvent
