Ratio, Rate, Proportion

• Ratio- quotient of two values of the same unit or quantity. a/b or a:b
• rate- different two units of the same type of substance reacting at the same time
• unit rate- the denominator is 1
• proportion- the relationship between two quantities, usually expressed as a ratio.
• direct proportion: y=kx/ x=ky
• inverse proportion: x=k/y, y=k/x
• mixed proportion: x=ky/z
