• Nature is powerful - ' The great slime kings had gathered there for vengeance '
• Feared / appreciated- ' I sickened , turned and ran '
• Strong emotions - ' But best of all was the warm , thick slobber '
• Cycle of life - ' How he croaked and how the mammy frog laid hundreds of little eggs '
• Personification - ' Daily it sweltered in the punishing sun '
• Ending / acceptance ? - ' If i dipped my hand the spawn would clutch it '
