  • the skin has three (3) layers namely:
    epidermis
    dermis
    hypodermis
  • the top layer

    • these are the soft tissue injuries

    • examples: cut, scrapes, scratches, punctured skin

  • •a wound that is produced by the tearing of soft body tissue, •often irregular or jagged •it is often contaminated with bacteria and debris from whatever object that caused the cut
    LACERATIONS
  • •deep wounds that occurs due to something sharp and pointed, such as nails. •opening on the skin is small, and the puncture wound may •not bleed much. can easily become infected
