Immunity

Cards (3)

  • Active Immunity - Your body creates an army of soldiers (antibodies) to fight off a specific alien invader, can happen naturally by infection or artificially by immunisations (an inactive version of an infectious agent), creating antibodies stores plans for them in case you are re-infected; if antigens are encountered and antibodies produced, memory cells (long-lived) develop, and secondary response is available
  • Passive Immunity - You can "rent" armies of antibodies to fight a specific antigens by getting them from someone who is already producing them, it will help you one, but won’t make plans for the antibodies in the future; antigens are not encountered by the immune system as immediate and temporary protection so no memory cells or secondary response available
