  • Sensory Neurons
    • Takes in sensory information from the environment (e.g. getting poked by a needle) and sends the signal to the brain
  • Motor Neuron
    • Communicate information from the brain to tissues and organs throughout the body, allowing for movement
  • Interneurons
    • Makes up the majority of the neurons in the body
    • They are essentially the 'middle man', transmitting information between the sensory and motor neurons
    • Play key roles in learning, memory and planning
