Cards (10)

  • Coefficient of variation
Standard deviation divided by the mean, expressed as a percentage
  • Standard score or z score

Obtained by subtracting the mean from the value and dividing the result by the standard deviation
  • Symbol z
    Used for the z score
  • Outlier
An extremely high or an extremely low data value when compared with the rest of the data values
  • Stem and leaf plot

A data plot that uses part of a data value as the stem and part of the data value as the leaf to form groups or classes
  • Box plot
Used to graphically represent the data set when the data set contains a small number of values, involving five values: the minimum value, the lower hinge, the median, the upper hinge, and the maximum value
  • Lower hinge
The median of all values less than or equal to the median when the data set has an odd number of values, or as the median of all values less than the median when the data set has an even number of values
  • Symbol LH
    Used for the lower hinge
  • Upper hinge
The median of all values greater than or equal to the median when the data set has an odd number of values, or as the median of all values greater than the median when the data set has an even number of values
  • Symbol UH
    Used for the upper hinge
