Pilot study

• Pilot studies - are small trial versions of proposed studies to test their effectiveness and make improvements
• • Pilot study is helpful in identifying potential issues before start, to then rectify before committing to the length and expense of full investigation
• In pilot study any part can be tested, e.g. validity of measure (does the questionnaire measure what it is supposed to) or whether the procedure is effective
