    • Protective Cabinets - These are the final line of defense at a facility or installation. These would be the place where assets like papers, documents, monetary documents, accessories may be stored
    • three types of security cabinets:
      1. Safe
      2. Vault
      3. File room
    • Safe - Its weight is at least 750 lbs. ; 1-inch thick steel; door is 1 ½ thick steel
    • Vault - Bigger than safe but smaller than a file room.
    • File room - This is a cubicle in a building that is lighter than the vault but bigger in size.
    • Types of Business Class Records:
      1. Class I (Vital Records)
      2. Class II (Important Records)
      3. Class III (Useful Records)
      4. Class IV (Non-essential Records)
    • Vital records - records that are irreplaceable
    • Important records - loss will involve considerable expense and cause labor
    • Useful records - loss will cause inconvenience but readily replaced
    • non-essential records - daily files
    • CATEGORY OR TYPES OF STORAGE CONTAINERS:
      1. Class 1
      2. Class 2
      3. Class 3
    • Class 1 - Commercial records safes designed for fire protection.
    • Class 2 - Commercial money safes designed for robbery burglary protection.
    • Class 3 - Security cabinets designed to meet specifications for safeguarding classified materials
    • ✓ Vault door is 6 inches thick steel
      ✓ Vault door is fire resistant up to 6 hours
      ✓ Walls, ceiling, floor are 12 inches thick steel
      ✓ Floor is 4 inches or higher
      ✓ Not more than 5000 cubic feet
    • File Room
      ✓ Height is 12 feet
      ✓ Not more than 10,000 cubic feet
      ✓ Door is water tight and fire resistive for 1 hour
      ✓ Walls, floor and roof are fire proof
