• weather: the state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.
• temperature is the hotness or coldness of the air around us
• air pressure is the force exerted by the air on a surface of an object
• barometer: an instrument measuring atmospheric pressure, used especially in forecasting the weather and determining altitude.
• humidity: the state or quality of being humid.
• psychometer/hygrometer : the instrument used by scientists to measure relative humidity.
• wind is moving air
• radiosonde measures weather conditions at upper levels of atmosphere
• radar is an abbreviation for ranging and detection
• there are 2 kinds of moonsoon winds in the philippines called northeast moonsoon and southwest moonsoon
• northeast moonson also called hanging amihan : this wind brings rain over the eastern coasts of the philippines
• southwest moonson or hanging habagat occurs during summer and it brings heavy rainfall
• the philippines has two seasons the wet season and the dry season
• wet or rainy season is characterized by heavy rainfall throughout the country. this is usally the planting time
• dry season is when the temperature is hot and windy. rainfall is low and this is usually the time to harvest crops
