  • The Cell is the basic unit of life and is the basic building block of all living things.
  • There are two main types of cells: prokaryotic (found only in bacteria) and eukaryotic (all other cells).
  • Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus, enclosed by a nuclear membrane. It is multicellular.
  • Prokaryotic cells have no true nucleus. It is singular.
  • Plant, animal, fungal, and protist cells are all eukaryotic cells.
  • The cell membrane is composed of phospholipids, cholesterol, proteins, and carbohydrates.
