  • Coordination
The constant flow of information between the architect or engineer and the consultants, and the task of the planner or project manager to coordinate the work of the design team and iron out conflicts
  • Final design planning stages
    1. Development
    2. Coordination
  • Final design stage
Completion of all drawings, usually to a scale of 1:100, and documents for the future development. The drawings serve as a basis for the planning application and possibly also the procurement process.
  • As the project has progressed
The drawings have become more precise and detailed, and the cost determination should also become more refined
  • Cost calculations
Should be as accurate as possible, continuously updated during the final design phase to monitor ongoing costs
  • It is important to keep the client informed during this phase and regular meetings should take place
  • Email
Advantage is that it is quick and direct, especially useful when the contents concern all team members since they all receive the same information at the same time
  • Building Information Modelling (BIM)

A type of software that can be used to represent all details of a project in digital format from the conception through to the occupation of a development, shared between all project participants. It replaces 2D technical drawings and extends beyond 3D by adding time as the fourth and cost as the fifth dimension.
  • A BIM model is a central store of information, so any modifications to the building design will replicate automatically through all dimensions
