  • (Mesa) Mesalamine (5-ASA) - used as inital therapy in UC
    • absorbed in proximal part of the intestine
  • 5-ASA MOA - anti-inflammation and alter immune response
    • inhibit cytokines synthesis

  • Mesa -pH dependent
